In the late 1980s, husband and wife, Richard Gan and Alicia Lim, started a printing company. Over the next few years, they witnessed the rising demand for books, especially children titles, and decided to diversify into publishing. Hence, Pelican Publishing was formed in 1994.
From its humble beginnings as a printing outfit, the company became a successful children book publisher, publishing scores of widely popular children storybooks thereafter.
Today, Pelican Publishing is a leading, regional publisher, producing books and educational series for toddlers, school-going children, teenagers, and young adults.
